Method
Preheat your oven to 375°F.
Slice the bread in half lengthwise.
In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, minced garlic, and parsley. Spread the garlic butter evenly over both halves of the bread.
Place the provolone slices on the bread and bake for 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy.
While the bread is baking, prepare the salad by mixing together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, salt, black pepper, and chili flakes. Stir in the chopped lettuce, onion, and pickled jalapeños until everything is evenly coated.
Once the bread is out of the oven, layer on the salami and pastrami, then top with the sharp cheddar cheese.
Spoon the creamy salad mixture over the cheese, then finish with a generous handful of your favorite chips.
Slice, serve immediately, and enjoy.
Dilruba’s tips
Feel free to use your favorite deli meats.
Swap the provolone or sharp cheddar for Swiss, Havarti, mozzarella, or pepper jack if you prefer.
Add the chips just before serving so they stay nice and crispy.
Add sliced tomatoes, pickles, banana peppers, or avocado for even more flavor and texture.
The salad mixture can be made a few hours ahead and kept refrigerated. Assemble just before serving for the best texture.
